Shrooms Trailer

Shrooms (2007) is drug based horror/thriller film of a teenaged drug fuelled trip to Ireland, in which the teenagers become intoxicated from taking mushrooms they found in a forest. By the dark lighting used in the trailer it conforms to the norms used within the horror genre. The fast passed atmosphere of the trailer also fits with the genre as it represents shock/fear and this is a way of emphasising it to the viewer.

Handy cam is used to give the effect to the viewer of being in the film as one of the characters. It is used a lot through out the trailer to keep the atmosphere, and give more feeling to film.

The mise en scene in the main scenes establishes the location, and what the characters are doing there. It does this by using a worm shot establishing the characters travelling into a forest. By doing this it gives the viewer an idea of the atmosphere the film will be trying to create.

The objective of a trailer is to spark interest in the viewers mind, influencing them to go and see the film, it is meant to give small insights into the film enticing the viewer. In the Shrooms trailer i feel by then end it has given too much of the storyline away which would make the viewer less likely to go and see the film. So I believe that this trailer fails to meet the specific objectives of a trailer is supposed to do.
